This list spans quite an age range. Guinea Pig, Pet Shop Detective is great for experienced readers ages six and up, but Coraline is probably too scary for anyone under eight or nine (and some adults). Most of these are good for readers ages seven to twelve seeking graphic novels (or to old people "them funny books"). Seven of these are in series. One is based on a movie. One is based on a book. · Bad Kitty Takes a Bath by Nick Bruel · Binky the Space Cat by Ashley Spires · Bigfoot Boy by J Torres · Zita Space Girl by Ben Hatke · Yotsuban and… by Kiyohika Azuma · Guinea Pig, Pet Shop Detective by Colleen Venable · Babymouse series by Jennifer and Matt Holm · Coraline by P Craig Russell (and Neil Gaiman) · Storm in the Barn by Matt Phelan · My Neighbot Totoro by Hayao Miyazaki (I just realized I have had dinner with two author/artists on this list! That had NOTHING to do with their making the list, Librarian's Honor!) |
